Together with Matthijs and his family we traveled to Poland, to search for his biological mother. A rollercoaster of a week, searching for days in one of Poland’s largest cities, Łódź.
As the story unfolded, DOP Niels Lokhorst and I were allowed to get extremely close, capturing every moment.
It was very special to share these moments with the Sluijs family, and to be part of this unique project.

Synopsis
Brothers Patrick, Oscar and Matthijs were all adopted at a young age, from different Polish families, and grew up together in the Netherlands. Now being adolescents, they return to the country of their birth, searching for their origins. An emotional journey with the ultimate goal of finding their biological mother.
This intimate family story tries to provide an insight in what it means to be adopted, and what the adoption process takes.
